Up-Coming Events

During the month of August, we trialled a series of informal, yet intimate presentations from 3 key speakers on the topics of Education, Parenting and an exceptional profile of Rudolf Steiner himself. Great success! We’re planning more for Saturday afternoons right through to Christmas, so watch this space (and others!) for more info. You can also ring us 9857 0111 or come in and visit our beautiful Store.

The scent of Spring….

Celebrating the changing seasons was always a joyful time in my family’s life.  You can already feel spring is coming and if anyone would like to spend some time talking about how to create a beautiful springtime festival at home with their children, maybe we can meet on a Saturday afternoon early in September at The Store.

Retail Therapy

Coming into our store puts a whole new slant on the phrase “retail therapy”. It’s interesting to contemplate the idea of ‘transaction’. One of the joys of working at The Steiner Store is the people and the conversations. We like to give people the space and the time for meaningful transactions!

Thursday

After a very long wait for new anthroposophical releases, the Store is filling with lots of new US and UK titles. Add to that a new staff member, Chelsea, whose fresh eyes saw potential for a new layout – and voila! the Store has been transformed.

Shadows

The brighter the light, the larger the shadow that’s cast. Shades of light and dark, polarities of good and bad and dualistic principles, I believe, are contained in the terms used by Steiner as sympathy and antipathy. To avoid being drawn into either polarity means to live within the tension that creates – something that requires a great deal of awareness and present-centred consciousness. We are ‘naturally’ drawn to ‘is’ or ‘is not’ and to sit in the tension of neither (or all) can be experienced as the void that is annihilating, yet can become liberating.

Evolution

Welcome to the Steiner Store.  This website marks the beginning of our evolution into a progressive participant within the web-sphere and its technologies.  We’ll be posting updates here regularly.

We have many more things planned here, and will unveil them over the remainder of 2009.
